Finally, our persistence paid off! I wrote and followed up with my local MP Ed Davey who responded today and immediately wrote to the health secretary as well as the foreign secretary to look into the matter on compassionate grounds.  He cited the enormous support given by all of you and also gave them the link to this petition!  Thank you all! It would not have happened without your overwhelming contribution to the cause!
