To be able to have our shed and aviaries!

The Issue

According to Havant Borough Council, you need planning permission on council land to have a shed or aviary, or any form of structure in you personal garden!

They are serving me with a 7-21 day limit to take down all these structures. This means that my indoor cats are able to escape who have never ventured outside. My cats are as you class indoor animals, so to give them some access to the outside fresh air we built a cat aviary in our front garden. In our back garden, we have a free standing shed in the corner out of the way and on the other side we have a bird aviary containing budgies and cockatiels.

Due to our down stairs neighbour complaining to the council about these structures, we have been served with this notice, which means we would all have to take down any outside structures in a result

As stated in a letter containing this information, there are "several" choices available

1, remove all structures from the land permanently.

2, submit a retrospective planning application seeking retention of all/any of the structures detailed - although I am unable to guarantee the outcome of any application submitted.

Basically they are saying we have no choice but to take them down. what is the point in having a garden if you cant use it for the things you love?

This action means any structure from a shed to a rabbit hutch in your garden could be subject to this regulation. Should we have to put our much loved family pets through this?
