This is a petition to the ownership group of the Boston Red Sox baseball club and the New England Sports Network (NESN).  We will not stand by and watch you remove the one half of the greatest broadcasting duo to ever grace the NESN booth.  It has been reported that beloved Red Sox announcer Don Orsillo will be removed from his position in the announcers booth at the end of the 2015 MLB season.  Though the reason(s) for his removal are unclear, the initial reports are that he is being set up to take the fall for the "poor ratings" of this season's games.  What the Red Sox ownership needs to understand (and what we Red Sox Nation devotees already do) is that it isn't poor broadcasting that is making the fans not tune in...it is because of the terrible product that is on the field.  It is the lack of cohesiveness and desire this team shows on a nightly basis.  Removing an ICON like D.O. is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.  Please understand, the people that HAVE tuned in this season have done so BECAUSE of the entertainment that Don and Jerry provide.  Don has earned the right to call it a career and step away from the mic on his own terms, not the terms of someone who needs a "fall guy" for a terrible season.  Sign this petition and keep Don in the booth beside his partner in crime until they both decide to ride off into the sunset.
