This petition is to highlight the feeling of Bogan Shire residents about the decision of the Bogan Shire Council not to recontract Dr Auland at the Bogan Shire Medical Centre.

During her time in Nyngan, Dr Auland has become a valued member of the community and has worked hard to improve the services available for the citizens of the Bogan Shire through the establishment of the Medical Centre.

Community members feel strongly that the VMO rights at Nyngan Hospital required by the council is not a priority for the Dr Auland to be employed at the Bogan Shire Medical Centre. Patients of Dr Auland appreciate the personal relationship and trust that has been built between doctor and patient and would prioritise this option over forcing Dr Auland to take up VMO rights at the Nyngan Hospital.
