St. Albans will soon have the only high school without a visual arts program in Kanawha County and as far as I know the state. Mrs. Moore is the only teacher teaching art there and she just received her official letter today that her position had been cut. This is not a county cut this is a local cut made by the current administration. She a home town girl. She has 30th year of teaching, She been lead art teacher for Kanawha County Schools since 1991, She was named WV art educator of the year in 2010 and to teach at St. Albans High is her dream job. She became an art teacher because of the influence Wanita Walton, McKinley Jr., and Lee Rose, St. Albans High had on my life. She has been told that one of the best chances She have of over turning this cut is to gain community support. Therefore, She asking you to stand behind her and help.
