We, the people, respectfully ask the Board of Directors of the Chattahoochee Humane Society to honor the community's request to fire Director Shon Sims, effective immediately.

    The community has been aware for many years of Ms. Sims incompetence in the position of Director. Ms. Sims is not only an ineffective leader in the welfare of our local animals, but a purposeful detriment to them, and does not adhere to even the most basic standards in modern rescue for a Humane Society. Any rescue work for the past several years has been a collaborated effort between local rescue groups and the staff of CHS despite obtaining no help from the Director, Shon Sims. Despite a direct unwillingness to help, Ms. Sims has actually gone a step further to purposefully and intentionally try to hinder rescue efforts that would save countless lives of the animals at CHS.

    We demand a new Director for the Chattahoochee Humane Society who will be present full time, and that will honor our caring community with a proactive approach to animal rescue in the form of planning and promoting regular adoption events, actively be involved in networking with animal rescues to help save lives, maintain an active website and Facebook page where all intakes are listed and promoted for rescue or adoption, and provide complete transparency involving shelter statistics and funding which is required by a 501c3 animal charity.

    We respectfully ask the Board to grant this request for our community and take the necessary steps towards progress and change that our community desperately seeks for our shelter animals. If our request is ignored without prompt attention to the matter, we will be forced to demand change from city and county officials in the form of loss of contracts and funding.

    We wish to not waste any more time, and to be able to promptly rebuild this community and shelter for the sake of our animals. We also would like to enforce higher standards that will restore much needed volunteers, but according to local citizens, this can only take place in the absence of Shon Sims. We thank you for your time and are looking forward to a timely response in this urgent matter.
