Dog runs are a safe and healthy way to provide unleashed exercise for dogs, with an opportunity for dog owners to socialize with each other.They also provide our elderly and disabled citizens a place to exercise their companions.
Off-leash dog parks provide a community setting in which people can gather and where they can observe the interaction of groups of dogs at play.
Off-leash dog runs promote responsible pet ownership and the enforcement of dog-control laws; gives dogs a place to exercise safely, thus reducing barking and other problematic behaviors.
Van Saun County Park serves the residents of River Edge, Oradell and Paramus. However, Van Saun Park has no facility to allow pet owners the ability to excercise their dogs off-leash.
Please join me in requesting the Bergen County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Bergen County Executive to allocate funds to design, erect and maintain a dog run at Van Saun Park.
