Childcare plays a vital role that allows many parents to work and provide a better life for their family. With this being said, the costs for childcare are currently at an all time high in Australia! It is at the point where some daycare facilities would cost a family more than what they earn in a week, should they wish to enrol their child into full time care. The costs of daycare are already eating working parents alive and enough is enough. This mess needs to be cleaned up, fast. According to a national study conducted by a major not-for-profit early learning and care provider this year, the workforce participation of Australian mothers especially will take a massive hit if childcare subsidies are reduced. One can only imagine the detrimental effects any increases in fees will bring! Childcare costs have gone up 150 percent in the past 10 years! The charges have risen so much that parents returning to full-time work after having a child can expect to lose up to 60 PERCENT of their gross income, once private childcare fees, loss of benefits and higher income tax rates are taken into account. With talks of yet another ridiculous increase in the near future, it is time for our voices to be heard! To get up and start speaking about the things that matter! The things that effect us! To raise our voices so loud that we can not be ignored! Every issue that is bothering us, we must come forward and put our foot down! There must be change, we can no longer crumble and watch our families suffer! Our government should be acting on behalf of its people! Not against it! Time to SPEAK UP AUSTRALIA!! A call for the government to LOWER childcare fees, not raise them! Stop ripping us off!
