Petition updateAUSTRALIAN KINSHIP CARERS NEED YOUR HELPGrandparent/kinship/kith carers flower drop Parliament House Canberra May 31st 2018

Sue ErbenFinley, Australia
May 24, 2018
On Thursday 31st May 2018 grandparent and kinship/kith carers from across Australia will unite at Parliament House Canberra (if not in person, symbolically by flowers to represent them) to protest the government's discrimination against Australia’s most vulnerable children and the grandparent and kinship/kith carers who are tasked with raising them.
Grandparent/kinship/kith carers have been asked to purchase a yellow flower for their kin kids and a purple flower for themselves to help bring awareness to the public that we are not supported the same as Foster Carers and while Foster Carers have our utmost respect, we cannot continue to save the government billions (yes billions as this is a nationwide issue) simply because we are family or kith.
We need people to realise that statistically there are more kinship and kith carers than Foster Carers and we will no longer be gagged by a system which is failing those kids in our care. Nor will we be threatened into silence.
We demand equality, if not for us then for the children we raise who through NO fault of their own and no fault of ours have been removed from their parental care. They deserve a chance at life, to become contributing members of society, after all, these kids ‘are’ the next generation. They are in crisis, we are in crisis.
STAND WITH US AUSTRALIA ON THE 31st of MAY, THE CHILDREN NEED YOU AND WE NEED YOU, TO DEMAND EQUALITY FOR AUSTRALIA'S MOST VULNERABLE CHILDREN.
