On the 31st of May this year when the Australian Senate sits in Canberra, Grandparent & Kinship carers across Australia are urged to send a Purple –for carers- & Yellow – for kinkids- flower to be delivered to the steps of Parliament house. Using a florist of your choice, the flowers can represent you and your kinkids without physically being there. Please share and pass around, we have an opportunity to he seen and heard, let's make this count! We will no longer be the silent majority of carers of vulnerable children in Australia. We are the voice of these children, we have their best interests as our priority, and we deserve to be respected and acknowledged and financially supported, as we are part of the solution. We need the public to realise things are not equitable, and the children need change NOW for them to reach their full potential. We did not plan, nor prepare for months or years in advance to foster a child at risk of harm. We ARE family who has stepped up, during crisis, to provide an environment for a child to flourish in, to feel love and to be nurtured to reach their maximum potential in life.
