Towards the end of the 2018 Spring semester, Kevin Quinn (Aquinas president), announced that Aquinas College is contemplating making the move from NAIA to NCAA Division 3. 

Aquinas College would change forever if this happened. No more athletic scholarships which would affect future recruits and the future of athletic teams. Periodic drug testing which gives athletes a constant sense of paranoia. Post season ban for a couple years which affects current Aquinas student athletes. Various other protocol changes involving traveling to matches, games, or meets and mandatory time spent in the library. AQ also will no longer be able to hand it to Cornerstone on a weekly basis.
