We, the undersigned brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. stand in unyielding solidarity with Brother Gonzalo P. Curiel, United States District Judge for the Southern District of California.

A graduate of Indiana University (BA '1976) and Indiana University School of Law (JD '1979), Brother Curiel was initiated at the Alpha Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. in 1974, and has led a distinguished career of service in the public interest.

As Brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. we vehemently denounce the ad hominem attacks that have recently been hurled against Brother Curiel by the presumptive Republican Presidential nominee.

Furthermore, we denounce any and all attempts that are currently in-motion by mainstream media outlets to defame Brother Curiel's character and/or legacy of legal judgement.

As brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. we salute Brother Curiel's history of service in the public interest---and stand firm in unity with his laudable achievements.

Who is Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel?

1.      A U.S. Citizen born in Indiana, USA. 

2.      A member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

3.      The son of parents of Mexican cultural ancestry.

4.      Appointed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to the bench in 2006. 

5.      Appointed by President Barack Obama as a federal judge in 2011.

6.      Currently the presiding judge in a class action lawsuit filed by former students of Trump University.
