We the undersigned hereby hold members of the House of Representatives and the those who support their activities, in contempt of the US Republic and we hereby accuse them of Constitutional malpractice when discharging their duty to participate in an impeachment inquiry.  This accusation has no bearing on the details being debated in the current inquiry but, rather, we hold members of congress and those who support them as dangerously hostile against the constitutional process of impeachment itself.  These individuals should be measured beyond current events and political parties.  These individuals know who they are and we who do our due diligence see who they are.  This petition is an attempt to demonstrate that there are members of the public who see this behavior, recognize what it represents and wish to make a definitive statement in defense of the impeachment process itself.

We believe our charges should be measured and applied on the following grounds:

1) We hold that impeachment itself is the single most important tool to prevent future Presidents from seizing too much power or using the power of government to interfere with elections.  This is an undisputed fact of its creation by the founders.

2) We hold that the US Constitution gives the House of Representatives the SOLE power to make its own rules, the SOLE power to decide on the leadership and the SOLE power of impeachment.  This is an undisputed fact.

3) There are currently members of the House who have used the existence of partisanship as a tool to delegitimize the process of impeachment.  They know full well that impeachment is a political process which requires rules and leadership to exist at the same time as Democrats and Republicans exist.  This has no bearing on the right to investigate, for any reason, the value of evidence presented, or the appropriateness of activities.  Only the evidence in the inquiry is appropriate to attack, not the inquiry itself.  For this we hold them in contempt of the US Republic and accuse them of malpractice.

4) There are members of The House who have attempted to delegitimize the Chairmen of committees and the rules created by the The House being followed in the committees.  The rules were created in an orderly process decided upon by The House of Representatives and the middle of an investigation is not the appropriate place to decide if they are fair or unfair because any accused President could claim that.  Attacking these rules after the fact is an attack against the power of The House to make and enforce its own rules.   For this we hold those members who do it in contempt and accuse them of malpractice.

5) There are currently some members of The House who are ignoring Presidential obstruction as a separate and more serious offense.  When they stand by and allow stonewalling and attacks against the integrity of an impeachment inquiry, they create a road map for all future Presidents and political parties to overcome checks and balances against the power of the office.  For this we hold them in contempt and accuse them of malpractice.

6) There are some members of The House who have demonstrated a belligerent disregard for the importance of impeachment as a tool to protect the integrity of elections.  They have turned it on its head and described the current process of impeachment as an attempt to win an election.  This undermines one of the most legitimate purposes of impeachment.  For this we accuse them of malpractice and hold them in contempt.

7) There are currently members of the house who have continually repeated the false claim that corroborating testimony and documentation is not evidence when it meets all legal standards of evidence.  When they do so during an impeachment inquiry, they create a road map for all future Presidents and political parties to delegitimize evidence to the American People and, by doing so, to overcome a legitimate impeachment.  For this we accuse them of Constitutional malpractice and contempt of the US Republic.

8) There are members of the house demonstrating a belligerent disregard for the professional findings of the FBI, intelligence services, diplomats and Constitutional experts who have been asked for their analysis and conclusions.  By casting doubt on the ability of these agencies and experts to present evidence, members of the House are creating a road map to delegitimize all means of clearly identifying domestic or foreign enemies.  For this we hold them in contempt and accuse them of malpractice.

9) If an impeachment arrives at the Senate for a trial, we the undersigned also offer this petition as a caution to all members of the Senate who may also be tempted to commit similar belligerent acts that delegitimize the authority of the evidence, testimony and expert analysis within the process of the Senate trial.  To do so will create a roadmap for Presidents and political parties to destroy both the impeachment process and the Senate trial as a tool of accountability and oversight.

We believe that these above offenses have made the American People less safe from foreign attacks as well as from their own government’s abuses.  Because the office if President involves a single person with an immense amount of power, impeachment and the trial that follows is a critical tool that the people have to stop abuses by a singular individual who cannot be stopped any other way.

This is especially true if this individual is tempted to use the power of the office to influence their own election.  We believe that all US citizens should consider these attacks against the legitimacy of impeachment, and the trial that follows, very seriously because they are an attack against the checks and balances that have always protected the nation from corruption, even in the darkest of days.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, we believe if the citizens themselves do not participate in a backlash against this behavior, they are, instead, participating in a conspiracy of silence, dissonance or disregard that makes them less safe from their own government's abuses.
