The Allegan County Fair draws thousands to the City of Allegan every year, and should be an event welcoming of all people. 

When vendors are permitted to sell racist imagery in the form of the Confederate battle flag on shirts, hats, stickers, and countless other paraphernalia, it sends a clear, blanket message from the City of Allegan: one of hatred and bigotry.

We are aiming to ban the merchandising of the Confederate battle flag in hopes of making an impact on the negative effects of racism in the Allegan community.
