It is imperative that the Alabama State Legislature guarantee student privacy and local control of education by rescinding the unproven, experimental program known as Common Core State Standards Initiative (aka College and Career Ready Standards). The Common Core States Standards Initiative is a federal mandate which takes away state sovereignty and autonomy and gives control of Alabama Education to the US Department of Education. Its adoption must be repealed.
