PLEASE HELP US GET THE HOMELESS ANIMALS OF RIO RANCHO, NEW MEXICO BACK ON FACEBOOK!
The Rio Rancho, NM animal shelter has always posted their daily intakes and adoptable animals on their Facebook page. With 10,000 followers their FB page was hugely successful in reuniting lost animals with their humans and finding homes for the homeless. The cats and dogs were easily networked with rescues.  ALL OF THIS REDUCED EUTHANASIA and provided a true COMMUNITY SERVICE to the TAXPAYERS OF RIO RANCHO.  Something to be very proud of.  They were so successful they posted their monthly adoption/reclaim and transfer #'s. Now NOTHING. ZIP. ZILCH. NADA.
In October the posts suddenly stopped with a post saying this page would no longer be updated. The new director (CAPTAIN A. Rodriguez505-891-5923 RIO RANCHO POLICE DEPT) posted his info asking for help then never responded to the 100's of comments and questions. He then posted 4 dogs and, again, no replies. They have 38 dogs listed on Petfinder and only 8 pictures. It is clear, THE CITY OF RIO RANCHO HAS DECIDED TO KILL ANIMALS RATHER THAN SAVE THEM. Please sign in support of the animals.


Solution
The City of Rio Rancho must restore the proven successful Facebook page posting daily intakes and adoptable animals. This is a necessary, not optional, community service and it must be restored.

Personal story
Our 14 year old Suzy would be dead right now of I hadn't seen her on the Rio Rancho Facebook page. Her senior owner could no longer care for her and believed the shelter would rehome her not kill her.  Had he brought her in just 2 months later she'd be dead. Instead she's happy healthy and in a loving home. ALL THIS BECAUSE WE SAW HER ON FACEBOOK.
