Strategies

1. Move the storm water in greater volume and faster into the sink - sea.
2. Use gradient, topology, lake-connectivity effectively to mitigate floods. Find missing canal links and restore it.
3. Proper Lake water Release management to be followed.
4. Old Irrigation Lakes within city and its neighboring districts be repurposed for utilities.
5. New Open wide channels to connect lakes to sea.
6. Cut & Cover is not advisable, where volume of storm water is more.
7. Illegal obstructions to the natural flow of storm water have to be removed.
8. Storm Water drains to be cleaned before monsoon.
9. Use local people’s wisdom and knowledge, to understand, plan, design and implement, the natural causeways of storm water.
10. Bridge the gap between petitioner, officials, planners, designer and implementer of flood water projects.
11. Interactive online petitioning system with accountability at each step of action and escalation.
12. People forum with local people and experts, to discuss with planner, designers and implementer of any civic government projects.
13. Conduct awareness session to the Public about executed work based on the petitions from them.
