Petition Closed

Please join me in sincerely thanking the San Francisco Giants for announcing their commitment to make an "It Gets Better" anti-gay bullying video for LGBT youth -- as well as the 6,500 fans who signed my petition on Change.org. This is a watershed moment for sports, for LGBT youth, and for kids perceived to be LGBT.

By joining the "It Gets Better" campaign, the Giants are showing us why they are World Champions, both on an off the field. If every pro sports team joined the Giants in taking a stand against homophobia and anti-gay bullying by making these videos, it would have a tremendous impact on the lives of millions of kids and their families. It would also contribute to a safer playing environment for gay athletes, from high school to professional sports.

Each of us holds a power to make amazing change, and the only thing that can hold us back is the fear that we can't make a difference.  While fear can drive us backward, it is hope that drives us forward. As the legendary visionary Harvey Milk once said, "You gotta give 'em hope."

Again, thank you to the San Francisco Giants for giving that hope to LGBT youth across America.

With Love,

Sean Chapin
