Thanet, Kent sees some of the highest levels of social and economical deprivation in the whole of England, we also have a climbing need for mental health services that are struggling to cope with the increased demand.  

We are asking for a Wellbeing Cafe to be set up in Thanet. This would be a safe place for people experiencing mental health distress outside of the Monday to Friday 9am-5pm hours of the Community Mental Health Services to go to or contact where their mental health distress could be managed and supported and, potentially, stop it becoming a crisis situation. 

This is following the recent, tragic suicides that have affected many people of Thanet that have highlighted the difficulties in both accessing and receiving support from the Community Mental Health Team - when people need the support.
