Thames Water Chesham Sewage Treatment discharges untreated sewage into the River Chess. During 2020, sewage was released into the River Chess on more than 36 days. Sewage contamination of the River Chess makes it a hazard for children paddling; water cress cannot be grown & caused the Sarratt water cress farm to stop production; & there are decreased insects, fish, birds & mammals in the River Chess environment.
