The issue

The Thai authorities have raided the infamous Tiger Temple in Thailand and what they found has shocked us to the core.

We already know using tigers for entertainment is cruel and a tiger selfie is a big no-no. But allegations of illegal trafficking have led the authorities to a discovery more grisly than we ever imagined.

The bodies of 40 baby tiger cubs were hidden in a freezer, while 30 more were found in glass jars. Over a thousand trinkets containing tiger parts, as well as several tiger skins were also found. Tiger parts are valued highly in the black market and trading in them is illegal in Thailand and internationally.

The Thai authorities need your urgent support to shut down this cruel and callous industry. Sign this petition to tell the Thai government you support their action 100% to confiscate all 137 tigers from the Tiger Temple. Urge them to investigate thoroughly the tragic deaths of the baby tiger cubs and the presence of tiger parts.

Call on them to urgently investigate all of the tiger entertainment venues cruelly exploiting tigers for profit.

There must be:

  • No more breeding and no more licences for facilities that use tigers for entertainment, and
  • A humane future at a government or affiliated sanctuary, operating at the highest standards, for all of the tigers currently suffering at entertainment venues.

Confiscated tigers must not be sold back to the entertainment industry.

At World Animal Protection we often refer to the ‘hidden cruelty’ behind wildlife entertainment.

Even we are shocked at just how awful the hidden cruelty can be.

Sign the petition to help shut it down.
