Thailand, Free Bi-2 Rock Band

The Issue

Russian dissident rock band Bi-2, which protested the war started by the Putin regime in Ukraine, was arrested in Thailand. The authorities of Thailand are planning to deport the band members to Russia.

Last year, Bi-2 leader Yegor "Lyova" Bortnik publicly admitted that he financially supported the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to Lyova, other band members also support Ukraine. Such a strong anti-war position led to the mass cancellation of the band's concerts in Russia, and Lyova was added to the Russian "foreign-agents" list. The band members had to leave Russia and started touring outside the country.

Last week, Bi-2 came with a concert to Thailand, Phuket, but were arrested for violating immigration laws when organizing the concert. The hope was that they would get off with a fine, but the Court of Thailand decided on their deportation. What is even worse is that the Russian ambassador to Thailand has been personally involved in ensuring that the band members with Russian passports are sent to Russia.

We are urging the authorities of Thailand not to support the anti-citizen and anti-world regime inside the Kremlin. There is proven evidence that this regime is in power in Russia due to election fraud, rigging, and other unlawful actions, as confirmed by PACE resolution #2519 and a recent claim to the Russian Central Election Commission made by Committee 2024. We would also like to mention that there is an actual valid arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin, issued by the International Criminal Court for his war crimes.

The opponents of the Russian regime are being placed in prisons built by the antecessors of Stalin's GULAG systems, with all their terrible practices, including prisoners' poisoning, shooting, torturing, and falsification of criminal cases..

Don't let good people be handed over to Putin for the GULAG!
