The Issue

Epsom Hospital is well used by residents of RBK South of the Borough Community yet we do not have a Bus Service that goes regularly to Epsom Hospital during the day, that can be used by patients and relations and friends to visit patients.

The existing 467 bus does go to Epsom Hospital from Hook via Chessington, West Ewell, Kiln Lane and Epsom Town  twice a day but only first  thing in the morning and mid afternoon and only  during school term for the benefit of School Children.

We cannot see why the Bus Service cannot go to Epsom Hospital on every journey and stop at the Bus Rest outside the Lava Lounge next to the Main entrance of Epsom Hospital.

On the return route it would go forward (not having to turn around on the busy A24 Dorking Road) and turn left into  Woodgate Drive so it can serve the back of the Hospital and re-join the A24 Dorking Road Traffic by safely turning right at the traffic lights at the BP Garage, Woodcote Road and travelling back into Epsom Town.

Also at present it is only an hourly service and once the route has been made more useful serving the Hospital, we would ask that it be made a ½ hourly service.  Epsom is a major shopping and commercial destination for RBK South of the Borough Community Residents.

We would also ask it carries on beyond 17:00hrs so it covers evening Hospital visiting times and people attending events at Epsom Theatre.

The London Mayor is always trying to push us to abandon our cars and use Public Transport however before he can do this he needs to get Buses to serve places residents need to get to especially NHS Services.
