Austin, TX – Austin Urban Technology Movement (AUTMHQ) in collaboration with Harlem Labs recently presented ReThink Austin 2022 for the fourth time this year. The theme for 2022 was "Leading by Action," and it featured powerful leaders discussing topics around technology, entrepreneurship, community impact, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Our guest panelists included Deepika Sangam, a NASA EPDC Education Specialist at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas who spoke about how space technology drives exploration. Ellen Bailey of Harvard Business Publishing was also invited to speak about how to create a personal board. We featured a live NTF discussion with GMI Advisory Services' Dr. Chuma Chike-Obi, as well as artists Jonathan 'Chaka' Mahone and Chris Tobar.

We also hosted a Phenomenal Women panel, which included Melinda Garvey, Founder and CEO of On The Dot Global and Co-Founder of AW Media; Mercedes Ballard, Co-Founder of Heristic.co; Muna Hussaini, Head of ESG Governance at Indeed.com; Taisha Dotson, Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Austin Women in Technology, and Paty Sesma, AUTMHQ's Vice President of Marketing and Communications. This panel discussed the important role that women play in the technology industry, as well as how having access to digital information allows for growth and opportunities.

Every topic of discussion, whether it was space technology, NFT, entrepreneurship, or anything else, emphasized the role of technology in our daily lives, which is why this petition must be signed.

Through this petition, Austin Urban Technology Movement (AUTMHQ) is aiming to provide internet access for low-income, underserved, and underrepresented communities; to connect low-income, underserved, and underrepresented communities with technology devices (mobile hotspots and computers), and to upskill and reskill low-income, underserved, and underrepresented communities to transition into the technology industry (using tech, developing tech, and/or working in tech) in order to apply for the technical and nontechnical jobs on our job board.

If you support reliable and high-speed internet access for all Texans for economic growth, the development of technology skills, and access to education, please this petition today.

Thank you.
