Great News Texas Technology for All Supporters,

We are happy to announce that Texas is one step closer to expanding broadband access after Senate Bill 5 unanimously passed on the Texas Senate floor! The legislation would:

1.      Establish a broadband office to oversee improvements to internet access and detail which areas lack connections.

2.      Establish a program to distribute grants and financial incentives for improved access.

3.      Create a statewide plan with long-term goals.

This brings Texas closer in closing the digital divide, but the battle is not yet over, and we are just getting started. We still have a long way to go until we expand digital equity across Texas and all Texans the support they need.
