Petition updateTexas Technology for AllWe Have Excellent News!
Austin Urban Technology Movement (AUTMHQ)
Aug 3, 2021

Earlier this year, AUTM elevated your voice to provide a formal testimony to the House State Affairs Committee supporting House Bill 5 (HB5), which resulted in a winning outcome. Governor Greg Abbott signed House Bill 5 by State Representative Trent Ashby (R-Lufkin) and State Senator Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville), increasing access to and adopting high-speed internet throughout Texas.

AUTM was able to get the broadband bill passed thanks to your continued support. Thus far, more than 2,000 people have already signed the Texas Technology for All Petition posted on change.org. This is one victory towards digital equity, but we still need your help to change hundreds of lives and create long-term solutions. So, if you support reliable and high-speed internet access for all Texans for economic growth, the development of technology skills, and access to education, please consider sharing this petition with your friends and family if you haven't already.

In addition, AUTM has donated more than 275 computers to Texans in need, exposed over 2,000 learners to technology, and currently has 75 individuals in our training programs. AUTM has also partnered with companies like Microsoft, Google, Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, and Galvanize, to increase diversity in tech and expand digital equity. Most recently, AUTM also announced a partnership with Workforce Solutions to lift 10,000 citizens out of poverty by focusing on workforce development and career readiness in tech!

Please email Austin Urban Technology Movement at contact@autmtx.org if you would like to join the AUTM movement and support our efforts.

With your help, we will have a substantial impact inside our communities, and we'll change lives together.

Sincerely,

The AUTM team
