as you may know the coronavirus (COVID-19) has been an issue for the past two months, and has spread to many countries. As an update there have been several thousand deaths, and around 145,000 cases. This virus is very infectious, and is able to be spread easily from human to human contact. There have been a couple of hundred cases in America. 

The virus contains symptoms of fever, dry cough, and potentially worse ones. It can lead to pneumonia, and even death. Not to worry, most people have mild cases. The people with respiratory illnesses, or compromised immune systems are at a higher risk of contracting severe symptoms from Coronavirus. 

This petition is because in the past week, there have many cancellations across the United States. For example, all sports and schools. Most Universities have shut down, and extending spring break for an extra week. After those two weeks for break, classes are going to be online. I believe that we should be able to have refunds for the switch to online classes, because we paid for face to face interactions. A lot of us struggle to even pay for school, and so I think it’s only fair to get even a partial refund for this inconvenience. The money that is injected for sports should be able to be used to give refunds for students, as well as supporting study abroad students!
