We urge TX State Board of Education to vote to SUPPORT including Mexican-American studies in Texas public schools on April 9, 2014

The Issue

The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Texas State Board, along with Nuestra Palabra and El Librotraficante are petitioning the Texas Board of Education to support Mexican-American studies in all Texas public schools. See the resolution submitted by LULAC Council 688 from Houston that was unanimously approved by the LULAC State Board on March 8, 2014 on our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/157973807583442/#

Mexican-Americans have made significant contributions in Education, Business, Science & Technology, Farming, and Ranching and to the cultural customs and traditions to make this state a beautiful place to live.  There are many other areas that the contributions of Mexican-Americans have impacted the lives of many Texans.  One such area is the many Mexican-Americans that fought and died for this country.
