CPS energy has recently announced a 3.85% rate increase. In Feb 2021, a freak snow storm forced thousands to be left without power for up to a week. It was 30° inside of peoples’ homes and cps rotated power to different zones for 10 mins/hour down to 3 mins/hour. Many lost their groceries(not to mention empty grocery stores for weeks to follow), we’re forced to get hotels(some of which still didn’t have power), and some even lost their lives trying to stay warm. CPS energy is trying to make its customers pay for that snow storm while the CEO base salary is nearly $486,000. Forcing this burden on Texans while the company was lacking is ridiculous and we won’t stand for it. Their job is to be prepared and provide, they simply aren’t. Not to mention their routine outages year round.
