Pappose is an albino raccoon that was raised in captivity due to her rare color. It was reported that she was being held and not being cared for properly. According to the state of Texas they can be hunted but not held in captivity against their will due to the state owning them. Her foster mother took very good care of her and misses her dearly. She was able to go and come as she pleased. Was able to climb trees on a daily basis and had a Healer as an everyday companion. She knew how to come in and out of the house at her own pleasure. On Dec. 6th Sam Smith was ordered to take her due to a complaint. The Sam Smith, the local game warden took her from her home and put her with a caretaker with an education permit. There was an article done on her and she has sores on her face; there is also talk about her teeth have been removed as well. Michelle Cloud would love to be able to get her back but most of all wants her to have the proper care. I, Michelle Cloud would love to work with Texas Parks and Wildlife to teach others about her and her species. With this change Pappose will be able to reach her full potential and add value to the community. This will also allow her to be more comfortable to be with the one who raised her. I have a vet that is very good with animals and will take proper care of all her medical needs. Hopefully this petition will help allow Michelle to continue to work towards her Wildlife Rescue Permit. Currently she has a citation on her record for this incident that will not let her continue to work towards her permits.
