Texas state law declares that Communists are people who engage in violent actions intended to overthrow the government. In reality, the CPUSA constitution declares that any party member who even advocates the violent overthrow of the government shall be expelled from the party.

Texas law forbids Communists from holding public office or even holding a state government job.

The law is contradictory and slanderous and is a violation of human rights and basic democratic principles.

This law, Title 5, Subtitle A, Chapter 557, Subchapter A & C as well as Sec. 557.022 should be overturned immediately.
