As a educator of 38 years, I count on my Teacher Retirement.  I will never be able to draw Social Security because of our system.  It is rumored that the Teacher Retirement Board may have to drop the multiplier to 1.8 from 2.3.  Our Texas legislation must provide more funding for TRS.  The future of Texas depends on our education system and Teacher Retirement has always been a drawing card for new teachers.  With an extensive shortage of teachers, this possible decrease will hurt our future and our state.  Texas Lotto was suppose to support Texas Education- what happened?  Contact your legislature now!  If we all BLOCK vote in the next election, those that make the decisions will reconsider.  Teachers unite for the state of Texas.
