Dogfighting is a felony in all 50 states.  Even so, according to the ASPCA, evidence suggests that the number of people involved in dogfighting in the U.S. is in the tens of thousands.  Our best effort to fight this is to inform ourselves and speak up. 

• If you witness the following signs in your community and suspect dogfighting activity, you should consider contacting your local authorities immediately:

  Dogs with multiple scars, possibly with lips or ears ripped off
  Pit bull-mix-type dogs weighing approximately 40-50 pounds
  Dogs on heavy chains, tethered to a tire axle or dog house/barrel
  Dirt ring around the dog
  Dogs chained inches apart from one another
  Dogs chained or penned in a secluded area intentionally kept out of the public’s view

• Be alert to signs of dogfighting in your local area.
• Fundraise for the Humane Society of the United States' END DOGFIGHTING Campaign. My personal fundraiser on behalf of animals through the Human Society of the US.
• Direct link to HSUS for donations on behalf of the animals.
• Help get stray dogs off the street.
• Promote responsible pet ownership amongst your own pack.  :)
• Familiarize yourself with regulations and laws regarding dogfighting and bring these to the attention of your local and state officials...let them know you care!  
• The HSUS also offers a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in dogfighting or cockfighting. If you have information about illegal animal fighting in your area, you can call the HSUS’s animal fighting tip line at 877-TIP-HSUS and your information will be kept confidential.
