The recent announcement that the Texas Education Agency will be working from home until January while teachers and students are expected to be on campus in August is dangerous to students, faculty, and staff. It is completely obvious that the Texas Education Agency knows that it is unsafe to return to campus, as demonstrated by TEA's decision to remain working from home throughout the first semester of the school year. You know this, and yet you are making a conscious decision to put millions of people, students, faculty, and staff at risk of catching covid-19, the ramifications of which could be deadly. This is unconscionable. I demand that you do the right thing and allow school to remain off campus until it is safe to return. This is not negotiable, people's lives are at stake. TEA's decision to work from home while sending teachers and students back to school before it is safe is reckless, selfish, and demonstrates that the Texas Education Agency does not have students' and staff's best interests at heart. The Texas Education Agency ought to be ashamed that they so flagrantly are risking the lives of students and staff while saving their own skins by remaining at home. Allow teachers and students to work from home as well.
