Response from TXDOT

I received an email from TXDOT this morning. The person that contacted me stated the following: "This is to acknowledge the receipt of your email to look into turn lanes and lower speed limits on US 281. I was not able to get a clear understanding about the exact location of your address. We have looked into the speeds on US 281 north and south of SH 71. We are proceeding with lowering the current speed limits on US 281 from 70 MPH to 60 MPH extending to 1 mile north and south of SH 71. The turn lanes into subdivisions and residential property are generally would be the responsibility of the property developer. Thank you for your interest in traffic safety." Unfortunately this does not solve our concern whatsoever. I did respond to let him know that and I will update you all as I hear more. On another note - I did an interview today for KBEY which will air tomorrow, and I'm so thankful for that. I'm praying this continues to bring awareness to our ongoing issue of highway safety in this area. We all need to continue sharing and spreading this petition to anyone and everyone. The more support we get, the better our chances are of getting something done. Thank you again for your support. I will keep everyone updated as I know more!
