LGBTQ+ Fertility Equality TX

For Aetna insurance in Texas, to qualify as infertile, you must have 12 months of trying to conceive in a heterosexual relationship. However, if you are a same-sex couple, you must have 12 months of (expensive) documented and monitored attempts to achieve this status to gain infertility coverage.
This is discrimination for profit, and there are no laws in Texas to protect the LGBTQ+ community from this.
On behalf of many LGBTQ+ couples trying to start a family, I am calling for REAL equality within the realm of insurance coverage. The LGBTQ+ community deserves basic human rights when it comes down to the path of conceiving a child and starting a family. Infertility is already emotionally taxing, however discriminating for profit is emotional abuse.
Coverage should not only be convenient for heterosexual couples, but all couples!
