SB4: The Most Anti-Immigrant Law Texas Has Faced and Possibly in The Nation.....
Stephanie RodriguezDallas, TX, United States

Hello everyone,
It's been a rough few months since my last update.
Our worst nightmare has become a reality, SB4 has passed both the house and the senate. The legislation, known as Senate Bill 4 (SB4), requires Texas law enforcement officials to assist federal agents in enforcing immigration laws or face penalties. That includes asking the immigration status of those they arrest or lawfully detain, sharing that information with federal authorities, and allowing federal agents to enter jails to enforce immigration laws.
SB4 is the most anti-immigrant law Texas has faced and probably in the nation. SB4 will allow local police officers to racially profile those they pull over. SB4 will separate families. And police would be required to comply with federal requests to detain suspected undocumented immigrants, & sanctuary cities are banned.
This INHUMANE law will go into effect September 1st of this year.
And TODAY May 7th, 2017 Gov. Gregg Abbott after boasting on social media (Twitter) on "warming up" his pen to implement this law has now signed SB4 into a law.
Dear supporters, we are about to face really harsh times and we need to prepare ourselves, we need to mobilize and share information to our community. Whether you're undocumented, a DACA recipient or even if you're a citizen you need to know your rights. Because even those who are citizens will be questioned by law enforcement, to "show their papers" and fall victims under SB4 simply for being racially profiled.
We are under attack.
This bill was the reason why I started this "sanctuary campus" petition. We need to protect as many people as possible. And now SB4 does NOT exclude campuses from having campus police question a students legal status in this country. I ask that you stay "woke", stay up to date with news not just any news, credible news. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE show your support by getting involved in an way possible, a rally, a protest, or a student forum and so on. And also PLEASE Reach out for help if you or someone you know is in need of immigration help. Feel free to reach out to me as I work closely with an immigration attorney.
I leave you with a video showing Texas State Representative Gene Wu's testimony against SB4.....
