Texans Against Data Centers

The Issue

The rapid construction of data centers across Texas is posing a significant threat to the land that we love. According to the Pew Research Center, there are at least 466 operational or planned data centers currently in Texas (second only to Virginia which has 685). These facilities consume massive amounts of energy and water resources. Resources that we don't have.

In rural areas, the influx of data centers disrupts local ecosystems, threatens the agricultural foundations, and competes for scarce water resources crucial for farming. Their presence leads to increased traffic, noise pollution, and a strain on local infrastructures that are not equipped to handle such rapid development.

Whether urban or rural, Texas does not have the resources to support this explosion of data centers. Our electrical grid and water resources cannot meet the needs of these massive data centers. Residents throughout the state are being asked to not water their lawns and farmers can't provide water for their cattle, yet data centers are allowed to drain our precious remaining water?

By rallying together as Texans, we can send a strong message to policymakers that unchecked and unplanned growth is unacceptable. Sign this petition to demand accountability, sustainability, and transparency in the development of data centers in Texas.

Texas is known for cowboys and farmland, not being a barren wasteland of data centers. Let's stand up for our Texas way of life!
