Please join our petition to save The Five Bells pub in Nether Wallop from decomposition and probable development into housing.

Our community has lost one of its most important assets – our village pub. For more than 200 years the Five Bells has been more than just a place to meet, eat and drink. It’s been the centre of the village; where people can find new friends, become part of the community, or simply go to find company.

Now our village has a sad, neglected building at its centre where once it had a heart. But, together, we can put the heart back into Nether Wallop and save our pub – not just for us, but for our family, our friends and those who visit or journey through our village. 

If we lose our pub, we will have lost it forever. We all live in a village that’s hundreds of years old. We are the custodians of the village and the houses that we live in. Let’s refuse to be the generation of Wallopers that lost the village pub simply because we stood by and did nothing.

The Five Bells closed three years ago and has been allowed to rot ever since. It is in a sorry state and no-one has intervened to guarantee its maintenance in keeping with its history. 

We want to see it restored to its former glory and preserved as a valuable community asset for the village to use once again.
