Tesco were the only major retailer to sell dark chocolate digestives that were vegetarian and vegan friendly and it has come to light that for some undisclosed reason, they have taken the decision to discontinue the sale of these, though they will continue to sell the milk chocolate variety.

We would like to take this opportunity to ask Tesco to seriously reconsider this decision. The number of vegans in the UK is increasing at a phenomenal rate, and whilst other manufacturers are making efforts to add more vegetarian and vegan products to their ranges (Bourneville fingers as an example), it doesn't make any sense as to why Tesco would want to stop selling a product that has been welcomed and indeed promoted by the vegetarian and vegan community.

Vegetarianism and veganism isn't going to go away, and what may appear to be such a small decision by Tesco, is causing concern for these communities and is not portraying Tesco in a positive light. 

Tesco - please do not alienate your loyal (vegetarian and vegan) customers by taking away products which have been loved from the moment they were introduced.
