The Issue

During the concerns of the current outbreak of the Coronavirus, this is putting a huge strain on our general population. Unfortunately the most hard hit are our eldelery community. The elderly are being requested to self isolate for a long duration of this epidemic.

Today someone close to my partner witnessed an 81 year old man refused to buy 2 microwave meals. One for him and one for his wife. I am aware the elderly are offered an alternative time to purchase items. However, the elderly are advised to self isolate for a period of 4 months!

To avoid public transport and keep themselves safe. How can the elderly self isolate for any period of time if they are also restricted to 2 maybe 3 items when they go shopping?

They need to be able to purchase whatever they need to self isolate and follow suggested guidance.

I am hoping to have enough people to sign this petition to allow the elderly to do as they're advised and not be put at continuous risk. We need to think about each other at this time! Please help our older generation and allow them to self isolate and stay alive!
