This petition is to close Halal counter in Tesco Blackburn. There is no other choice of freshly cut meat for non-muslim people at all. There is also no information what the halal meat is.

Halal is a barbaric and very inhumane practice. It is unthinkable why the goverment still allows it in this (or any other) country. It is even more puzzling that national retailer as big as Tesco allows and condones this in any of it's stores. Blackburn Superstore hasn't got a butcher counter other than Halal.

It is all over the news that Muslim community is against my and everyone's who is signing this petition views - I am not going to argue with anyones views here but for those who say that the knife is hidden from the view of the animal so it is not stressed or that cutting animal's throat makes milliseconds different, where conciousness is concerned should watch this video first: Halal Slaughter

Tesco Blackburn Superstore has to close Halal counter - it is NOT right!

NOTE: IT IS NOT an excuse to have a go at Muslim religion or community! - I'd have the same opinion if Tesco had a kosher counter. Stunning animal before the slaughter maybe isn't pretty either but the animal is not going through the same amount of stress when it is not actually aware that it is dying. 

This is a petition agains Tesco supporting barbaric practices. What makes me sick is that people (even some Muslims & Jews) do not understand or know what Halal (or Kosher) slaughter technics actually are and how they are inhumane. 

Only a week ago I've heard a guy on radio saying that it is humane and the animal is petted and the knife hidden from it's view before the slaughter - Really?! I'm sure the sheep knows what the knife actually is.
