Panic Buying - Basket only shopping in supermarkets next week
Panic Buying - Basket only shopping in supermarkets next week
The Issue
There continues to be a distressing level of panic buying in our supermarkets. It must stop!
In these most difficult of times the elderly, the vulnerable and our key workers are now going without basic foodstuffs. Time set aside to benefit these groups is being abused.
There is enough food for all, but we’re not seeing it....just empty shelves day after day.
Let’s put a stop to this, give the food chain time to restock and all pause to think about others for moment.
For a limited time, we are asking the major supermarkets to ban use of their trolleys and implement a one basket per person policy in all of their stores (in addition to limits already placed on the purchase of essential items).
And there’s no reason not to....If you have a larger family, take the children shopping with you and they can carry a basket each. If you are unable to use a basket then assistance can be provided, or a small trolley handed out by a member of staff at the door. Either way we will see a dramatic reduction in food purchases and start to see food on the shelves once more.
Let’s work together to solve this.
( Video found on YouTube to show the reality in UK supermarkets this week. Used with gratitude but I’m happy to remove on request)
