In 2016 you did something incredible. You signed my very first petition (when I was just fourteen!). Three years ago, after months of seemingly endless letter writing, I started an online petition to stop the sales of eggs from caged hens in Tesco. With your support, the campaign grew above and beyond anything I could have ever expected and had such an incredible impact on the future of hen welfare in the UK.
Now, I’m seventeen and proud to say I am still an animal welfare campaigner. The support you provided has given me so many amazing opportunities! Recently I have been raising awareness for the desperate need for children and young people to be better educated regarding animal welfare.
Education is an infinitely powerful tool to create a more compassionate and caring society. Animal welfare is not, and should never be, something we simply tolerate and with your support I will always do all I can to create a cruelty free future.
I should have some exciting updates on the way soon and I would love for you to keep up to date! You can follow my Twitter here: https://mobile.twitter.com/lucygavaghan?lang=en (@LucyGavaghan)

Essentially, what I wanted to say to you all is Merry Christmas and the happiest of New Years!
Much love,
Lucy xx
