We are representing the honors students not only today but the kids of the future who want the option to take honors classes through the virtual learning platform. Right now the students are being underrepresented by the school board. Instead of ensuring that every student has a guaranteed and viable curriculum at every level, they are suppressing not only high school students who compete for their spot on stage but the fifth grade and higher kids who lose the option to have a curriculum on their level. Education should not be limited because of a public health crisis. The school board is failing their students when they make their students determine upon either a valued education or good health when the options should occur simultaneously instead of unrelated.
