The Iditarod, often referred to as "The Last Great Race," is a grueling, 1,000-mile dog sled race across the harsh Alaskan wilderness, often posing severe health risks to the dogs involved. Each year, multiple sled dogs tragically lose their lives during the Iditarod due to factors such as frostbite, pneumonia, and exhaustion (Humane Society). The welfare and safety of these innocent animals must be prioritized. We therefore call on the Alaska State Government to end this inhumane event. Put a stop to the Iditarod.
