Philip Blackwell has been  communicating and acting inappropriately towards multiple of his underage band students.  Despite some of these behaviors and actions being documented and reported, Mr. Blackwell is expected to return to his band director position next week.  This behavior is not okay, it is unacceptable and directly violates BMHS staff expectations and boundaries that an adult should have with a child.  

Allowing Mr. Blackwell to continue to work with students is absolutely unacceptable. The BMHS campus should be a productive learning environment run by  responsible, safe teachers, admin, and staff.  Allowing Mr. Blackwell to return to his position after multiple incidents creates an uncomfortable and scary environment for students. All students at BMHS deserve to feel comfortable, safe, and like they have the opportunity to learn and grow.
