The Ministry of Ecological Transition can NOW include the European Bison in Spanish wild Endangered Species Red List, as indicated by Europe and the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

The Ministry has proposed a draft amendment to the list and we ask them to include the European Bison to support the fight against its extinction and ex officio, as they will do with the European Beaver.

Several conservation projects were developed in Spain for last 10 years thanks to private initiatives and huge international cooperation, while Spanish Government claimed to have hands tied due lack of legal basis. You can NOW provide a legal basis for this amendment by following our request.

European Bison are threatened in the world, with 7,500 live specimens, and if we are successful, will be able to live free in those Spanish lands wanting them, with a legal basis now denied. We extinguished this jewel painted in Altamira Cave and we can put some remedy now.
