Dear Residents,

We have a situation regarding access to tennis courts @ the Waterfront Park.

With only 3 Tennis Courts available at the park to all Weehawken Residents (approx. 14,500) it is extremely difficult to get access to a court when you wish to use it, especially during peak hours (between 5pm - 8pm) right after a long day's work.

Currently, ALL 3 courts are unfairly and shamelessly being occupied for Group Lessons during the peak hours in the evening from 5pm to 10pm throughout 4 days a week leaving NO court available for use by residents who wish to play tennis. (Keep in mind private lessons are prohibited with signs on all courts and only an hour usage is allowed)

I know I share this disappointment and frustration with a number of residents already and I'm hoping that with this petition, we will be able to get back access to the courts meant to be for the residents!

I've been a Weehawken resident for almost 6 years now and I've never had to deal with not having access to a court until this season. The situation started 3 years ago with only 1 court being occupied for group lessons. Last year 2 courts were occupied and this year - ALL courts!

With enough signatures from the Weehawken residents we will be successful in claiming the courts back!
