Vote NO on SB1556--the Counseling Discrimination bill

Vote NO on SB1556--the Counseling Discrimination bill

The Issue

On Feb. 10 at 12:30 a Senate Committee may consider SB1556, which would allow counselors to opt out of serving clients based on the counselor's sincerely held religious beliefs.  Laws should be designed to protect the client, which is the current priority of the current code of ethics for counselors.  This bill allows the agenda of the counselor to become dominant.  It adds stigma to a situation in which a client is seeking help.  This bill seems designed to target the LGBT community.
